Volunteer Opportunities

Have some extra time on your hands? Put it to use by volunteering with us!

We have two warehouses that are in operation processing incoming food donations and outgoing food orders. We operate as a food bank, not only providing direct support to our neighbors through emergency food orders, but also providing food for other churches and agencies in the surrounding communities.

We have seasonal assistance programs that need volunteers who are high quality, energetic individuals. Our Back to School, Thanksgiving, and Christmas food, clothing and toy drives are very large and require a great deal of manpower.

Advisory Board is an opportunity for the movers and shakers of a community to serve in a formal capacity as an advisor to The Salvation Army in our surrounding community. A Board member serves for a three-year term and can be involved as much as they desire. Several committees are available at this time for service such as Program, Finance, Adult Day Health Care, Youth Services, and Property. An Advisory Board Member can help open doors for the Army and be a key part of the mission through the relationships they have in the business community.

Women’s Auxiliary is a philanthropic group of women who raise money specifically for projects around the county. They have several major events a year such as the Annual Fashion Show. Many of the auxiliary women find a sisterhood within this organization and many say that it has done so much for them by giving them a purpose and a direct way to serve people in the community where the direst needs must be met.

There are other volunteer opportunities available for work with youth and elderly adults within our community. All volunteers need to attend a volunteer orientation and some volunteer opportunities require background checks to ensure the safety of the people we serve.
